But family man Javier Bardem is still making sure he squeezes in plenty of quality time with his wife Penelope Cruz and their young children, three-year-old son Leo, and Luna, 13 months.
The 45-year-old actor and his family spent the day at the Two Oceans Aquarium at the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, where they enjoyed some aquatic adventures.
After they had taken a tour of all the sea creatures, the couple stopped for a meal at the Shoreline restaurant, where they ordered burgers, fries and a salad.
The kids enjoyed a colouring-in session at the dinner table and Penelope looked very animated as she watched over them.
The hands-on mother was dressed down in a pink jumper and went make-up free, while Javier donned a casual jacket and jeans.
The romance was clearly still very much alive between the pair, who tied the knot in July 2010 in a romantic Bahamas ceremony.
Javier fussed over his wife, draping an arm around her shoulders and planting a smooch on her lips as they left the restaurant.
Penelope, 40, seemed preoccupied with gathering together the children's playthings and coats.
The couple first met on the set of Spanish film Jamon Jamon when Penelope was only 18, but their friendship blossomed into a romance 16 years later while wokring on Woody Allen's Vicky Cristina Barcelona.
The Oscar-winning actress has cut back on her movies and the number of hours she works in recent years.
She told The Mirror: 'You need to have time for your own life and as a mother that changes even more.
'Family is the most important thing for me… and if you have children you want to raise them yourself.'
